Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions (the “Terms”) govern your access to and use of the AccounTantra website, together with all content, tools, resources, newsletters, contact forms and, in due course, professional accounting, taxation and bookkeeping services offered under the AccounTantra brand (collectively, the “Platform”). AccounTantra (“AccounTantra”, “we”, “our” or “us”) makes the Platform available to you subject to the terms set out below.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing, browsing, registering with or otherwise using the Platform in any manner, you confirm that you have read, understood and agreed to be legally bound by these Terms and by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated herein by reference. If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, you must discontinue use of the Platform immediately. If you are using the Platform on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you are duly authorised to bind that organisation to these Terms.

2. Website Use

You may use the Platform only for lawful personal, academic and non-commercial purposes and strictly in accordance with these Terms. You agree not to interfere with the normal operation of the Platform, not to attempt any unauthorised access to our systems, databases or user accounts, not to introduce viruses, malware or malicious code, and not to use any automated means such as scrapers, bots or crawlers to harvest content or data. We may, at our sole discretion and without notice, modify, suspend or discontinue any part of the Platform, restrict access to certain features or limit the availability of the Platform to any user or geographic region.

3. Educational Content

All articles, tutorials, journal entries, MCQs, illustrations, videos, worksheets and downloadable resources made available on the Platform are provided for educational and informational purposes only. Content is prepared with reasonable care based on our understanding of prevailing accounting standards, tax provisions and regulatory guidance as at the date of publication. However, laws, regulations and interpretations change frequently and content may not reflect the most current position. You acknowledge that the educational content is not a substitute for individualised professional advice.

4. Intellectual Property

All rights, title and interest in and to the Platform, including its design, layout, source code, trademarks, logos, brand elements, illustrations, graphics, articles, videos and any other content, are the exclusive property of AccounTantra or its licensors and are protected by applicable copyright, trademark and other intellectual property laws in India and internationally. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access and view the content solely for personal, non-commercial educational use. You may not reproduce, republish, redistribute, publicly display, adapt, translate, sell, licence, exploit or create derivative works from any part of the Platform without our prior written consent. Any unauthorised use may result in civil and criminal penalties.

5. User Conduct

When using the Platform you agree that you will not: (a) impersonate any person or entity or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity; (b) upload, transmit or otherwise share any content that is unlawful, defamatory, obscene, harassing, threatening, misleading or infringing of any third party's rights; (c) collect or store personal data of other users without their consent; (d) reverse engineer, decompile or attempt to derive the source code of any component of the Platform; (e) use the Platform in a manner that could disable, overburden or impair its functioning; or (f) engage in any conduct that violates any applicable law or regulation. We reserve the right to investigate suspected violations and to take appropriate action, including reporting the matter to law enforcement.

6. Third Party Links

The Platform may contain links to third-party websites, tools, integrations or resources for your convenience and reference. Such links do not constitute an endorsement by AccounTantra of the third party or its content, and we do not control and are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, legality or content of any third-party site or service. Your interactions with any third party are solely between you and that third party and are governed by their own terms and privacy policies. We encourage you to review such terms before using any third-party resource.

7. Future Professional Services

AccounTantra intends to offer professional services such as Income Tax Return filing, GST registration and returns, bookkeeping and related advisory in the future. Any such professional engagement will be undertaken only pursuant to a separate written engagement letter, service agreement or client onboarding documentation, which will define the scope of services, fees, timelines, deliverables, obligations and applicable disclaimers. The publication of information about future services on the Platform does not itself create a professional relationship, a solicitation of engagement or any binding obligation on the part of AccounTantra to provide services to any particular person.

8. Limitation of Liability

The Platform and its content are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including without limitation warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, completeness or non-infringement. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall AccounTantra, its founders, contributors, employees or affiliates be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, punitive or exemplary damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill or business opportunities, arising out of or in connection with your access to or use of, or inability to use, the Platform or any content on it, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Our aggregate liability in respect of any claim shall not exceed the amount, if any, actually paid by you to AccounTantra in the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

9. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify and hold harmless AccounTantra, its founders, directors, employees, contractors, affiliates, licensors and service providers from and against any and all claims, damages, liabilities, losses, costs and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in any way connected with (a) your access to or use of the Platform, (b) your violation of these Terms, (c) your infringement of any intellectual property or other right of any person or entity, or (d) any content you submit, post or transmit through the Platform. We reserve the right, at our own expense, to assume the exclusive defence and control of any matter otherwise subject to indemnification by you, and you agree to cooperate with our defence of such claims.

10. Governing Law

These Terms and any dispute or claim (including non-contractual disputes or claims) arising out of or in connection with them shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. You irrevocably agree that the competent courts located in India shall have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with these Terms or their subject matter.

11. Termination

We may, at our sole discretion and without prior notice, suspend or terminate your access to all or any part of the Platform at any time, including for any suspected violation of these Terms, for security reasons or for the protection of AccounTantra or other users. Upon termination, all provisions of these Terms which by their nature should survive termination shall continue to apply, including without limitation intellectual property provisions, disclaimers, limitations of liability, indemnity and governing law.

12. Modifications

We reserve the right to modify, amend or update these Terms at any time and from time to time in our sole discretion. The revised Terms will be posted on this page with an updated “Last updated” date. It is your responsibility to review these Terms periodically. Your continued use of the Platform after the effective date of any revised Terms constitutes your acceptance of the modified Terms. If you do not agree with the modified Terms, you must discontinue use of the Platform.
